How You'll Make an Impact

Inspire and Lead
  • Lead and mentor a team of learning professionals, providing guidance and support to help them excel in their roles.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting and encouraging Associate engagement in development opportunities
  • Exemplifies Grow Every Day and philosophies of Dierbergs with self, team, and outcomes; continuously looks for ways to reinforce Grow Every Day in the culture and all work processes.

Build & Grow Partnerships
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including department directors and executives, to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Identify and partner with subject matter experts to create engaging and impactful training content, leveraging a variety of delivery methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to identify skill gaps and anticipate future learning needs.

Executing to Drive Results
  • In partnership with stakeholders, define business outcomes that support organizational goals.
  • Design complete learning experiences as a process not an event and include what happens before and after the event in the design.
  • Design and implement engaging learning experiences that captivate and motivate participants, utilizing a variety of instructional methods and technologies.
  • Deliver learning that creates positive and impactful experiences that are easy to learn from and apply.
  • Drive learning transfer by sustaining and reinforcing the learning after the event, through engaging leaders, and ensuring accountability of learners and leaders is in place.
  • Assess and leverage tools to provide performance support for learners and leaders to ensure learning transfer is occurring.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning through connections with learners and leaders, assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and make necessary improvements and adjustments.
  • Monitor and track learning metrics and KPIs to measure the impact and effectiveness of learning initiatives and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development, incorporating new approaches and technologies into training strategies.
  • Manage and oversee learning platforms, systems, and records, ensuring seamless access to resources and a user-friendly experience for Associates.

About you
  • 5 years' experience in Learning and Development or applicable experience in a related field outside of the education sector is required
  • Minimum of 3 years previous management/leadership experience
  • Experience in the grocery, retail, hospitality, or restaurant industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Education, Business or closely related discipline required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to motivate and inspire teams to produce quality work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Takes a strategic business focus; understands business priorities, defines problems and desired outcomes, cuts through complexities, identifies root causes of problems, and makes sound recommendations by involving the appropriate people
  • Skilled leader who is highly capable of influencing and facilitating change in a cross functional environment through insightful listening, effective communication, and collaboration
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration and partnership; facilitates the discussion and resolution of different views, leverages areas of agreement to gain consensus; raises difficult issues to gain alignment or resolution
  • Possesses a sense of urgency and solid decision-making skills; exhibits sound and accurate judgment
  • High level of attention to detail; ability to ensure execution of projects meet and reflect desired outcomes
  • Possesses a high level of integrity, enthusiasm, and positivity
  • Must be committed to continuing self-improvement and education
  • Possess strong technical skills including but not limited to proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), instructional design & multimedia tools, Microsoft suite
  • Able and willing to travel to our various store and satellite locations
  • Flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and overnight travel (if needed)
