The Senior Data Analyst will be at the forefront of building data insights capabilities and shaping the future of data-driven decision-making at Dierbergs. They will serve as the cornerstone for delivering insights that not only bolster Dierbergs as an innovative grocer but will also be the catalyst to empower decision-makers to propel the organization forward. The person in this role will work closely with stakeholders within the marketing, finance, and operations teams to identify business opportunities, address challenges, collect and analyze data, identify key performance indicators, develop reports and dashboards, and enhance business outcomes, by leveraging a unique blend of finance and data insights knowledge.
About the role
• Participate in the development of new data models and structures to enhance data accessibility and usability
• Apply statistical analysis and data modeling techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and insights in the data
• Present findings and insights to management and other stakeholders
• Collect and analyze data from various sources to support business decision-making
• Assess and make analyses and decisions rooted in financial or operational value
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor trends
• Develop and maintain data visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
• Utilize statistical methods to analyze large data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify optimization and improvement opportunities
• Work with IT to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
• Provide support for ad-hoc data requests and special projects as needed
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data analysis
About you
• Master's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, previous work experience in finance and/or accounting is required
• 3+ years of experience in a finance/accounting and data analytics role, preferably in a retail or grocery industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of data
• Proficiency in MS Excel, experience with SQL, and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
